Blak Side Story's awesome 'digital quilt'

A multi-media exhibition exploring contemporary Aboriginal Identity and stories from Indigenous community members from Melbourne's West.

Presented by Footscray Community Arts Centre in association with Moondani Balluk and Boon Wurrung Cultural Foundation, the exhibition features photography and interactive digital displays produced by local visual media production company Singing Bowl Media.

As part of the development of Blak Side Story, Traditional Owners, Elders and community members from Melbourne's West were invited to share a story of significance, and the question ‘What does it mean to you to be Aboriginal?’ was answered with eloquence, pride and strength. These stories were then filmed on high definition cameras and sewn together, resulting in a ‘digital quilt’ that is viewed on interactive display screens as well as online at www.blaksidestory.com
